Description: Created by David James Armsby. facebook.com/davidarmsbyartist This is a video covering my creative process when designing monsters. Specifically, this video covers my creative process designing the "Great Rat" for my "Merry Madness" animated short film. I cover my initial ideas for the character my research, reference and inspirations, my early drawings and concepts and eventually leading into a final design rendered as a full 3D clay sculpture of the monster. From there I take that finished design and create a 3D model to be rigged, textured and animated.
